  • Today my early morning BG was 144 and I did not take my BG again for the day as I had to go shopping
  • I walked only 5 KM today as I wanted to take it easy
  • However, I did my usual other exercises - climbing steps, doing some yoga stretches, and doing some diaphragmatic breathing
  • In my house, we have twelve steps going upstairs and I climb them fifty times making it a clean 600 steps. This makes my legs and my heart stronger
  • For lunch I ate a lamb chop with some vegetables
  • In the evening I ate some salad

  • I am still trying to shake away a flu
  • My BG late thi morning was 123 (6.8)
  • I walked 5 km today
  • For breakfast I ate oatmeal with teff and chia seeds
  • For lunch I ate some tofu and some salad
  • In the evening I cooked spicy chicken thighs and ate it with basmati rice and enjoyed a nice salad of tomato, spinach, red onion, and celery
  • One yoga pose I do regularly

  • Early this morning my blood glucose reading was 157; a bit high because late last night I snacked on a honey-coated granola bar. In the afternoon my BG was 105
  • Some of the yoga exercises that I do regularly 


  • I walked 5 km this morning but I have not been feeling too well today - kind of fluish. So, I decided to rest from my exercises today
  • For breakfast I ate a small half-boiled egg and a paratha which is a flat Indian bread; I had it with lentils
  • For lunch I had a salad and some sorghum
  • In the evening I ate a naan with lentils and a mug of milk

  • My blood glucose was 118 (6.5) early this morning and 79 (4.4) around noon
  • I walked a total of 15 KM today
  • For breakfast I ate oats with peanut butter and teff
  • At lunchtime I had a salad and cooked sorghum with curry chicken thigh
  • For dinner I had a salad

  • I had a very interesting appointment with my diabetes "coach" Dr John Scolaro who is a professor at Husson University in Bangor. Pharmacists Gregg and Jennifer were there too. We discussed my diabetic journey since I last saw them two weeks ago
  • My early morning blood glucose was 8.7 and my evening blood glucose was 5.2
  • Today I walked a total of 10 KM at the UMaine Rec Center
  • For breakfast I ate a bowl of oatmeal with raisins and chia seeds 
  • For lunch today I made a salad and a soup with kale, carrots, canned tuna, a few pieces of sweet potatoes, some flounder, and dark red kidney beans. I also had some salad, and lentils with sorghum
  • In the evening I had some of the soup from this afternoon and a tortilla wrap with scraped carrot and tomatoes as well as a bowl of salad

  • Yesterday my early morning BG reading was 7.3 (US=131.5) and in the afternoon was 6.7 (US=120.7)
  • I walked a total of 15 KM
  • My breakfast was oatmeal with raspberry, flax, teff, and flax
  • For lunch I ate a bowl of salad
  • In the evening I ate parboiled rice cooked with vegetables and I drank a mug of veggie smoothie made with spinach, celery, and an apple

  • My early morning glucose reading was 7.1 (128) and in the afternoon it was 4.8 (US=86.5). It was also 4.8 in the evening!
  • My breakfast was oatmeal with raspberry, flax, chia, and peanut butter
  • I walked a total of 12 KM today
  • For lunch I ate a spicy baked chicken drumstick with a bowl of red kidney soup with sorghum and a salad that consisted of red onion, red cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, tomato, and some pumpkin seeds 
  • This morning I had a mug of veggie smoothie made with spinach, celery, and tomato
  • This evening we went for the evening mass at the campus church starting at 6.15 p.m. The priest served dinner with sandwich bread, spinach, sliced tomato, pickled cucumber, cheese, and ham. I skipped the bread and the ham and loaded my plate with the rest of the stuff

  • This morning my blood glucose reading was 6.5 (US=117). My doctor wants to know how my body is managing my glucose level while I am sleeping! 6.5 is a very good reading!!! This evening my blood glucose was 3.4 (US=61) (a bit too low)
  • This morning I did my diaphragmatic breathing exercise 
  • I walked a total of 12KM today
  • My breakfast was a very small half boiled egg and oats with peanut butter, almond butter, whey powder, and chia seeds
  • This afternoon for lunch I had a bowl of the vegetable soup I made yesterday
  • I had a mug of homemade smoothie containing spinach, an apple, celery, and pumpkin seeds
  • For dinner I had a tortilla wrap with scraped carrot, sliced tomato, and sliced red onion

  • Today I walked a total of 15 KM at the UMaine Rec Center which is 2.5KM from our home
  • In the morning I walked 5KM; in the afternoon I walked another 5KM; in the evening I walked 5KM
  • For breakfast I ate a small half boiled egg and a bowl of oats with whey powder, peanut butter, flax, teff, and chia seeds
  • For lunch I had a bowl of home-made soup of celery, carrots, dark red kidney beans, sweet potato and mushrooms
  • For dinner I had some cooked sorghum and millet with cooked eggplant, boiled asparagus, and some of the same soup from this afternoon. I have stopped eating rice as my blood sugar reading will spike
  • My blood glucose readings were 7,2 early in the morning and 4,3 in the afternoon
